Sparkle Quilt Along, Part 3

This week we sew the blocks! Grab your baggie, or set of units for one block and layout the units as shown below. White blocks are the back ground and the solid and dot blocks are the scrappy sections. The arrows indicate which direction to press the seams.

I strongly suggest that you layout the units and snap a photo. Look at the photo on your phone to see if there are any units out of place or facing the wrong direction. It is easier to see in a photo than in real life for some reason.

Sew each row together as shown. Once all of the rows are sewn, we will then sew the rows together. This is when you will be glad you pressed the seam according to the arrows. The seams will nest nicely and make accurate intersections.

Press the seams open or all to one side, whatever you prefer. Snap a photo of the finished block to share on social media using

Be sure to leave hearts and comments on other blocks so future blocks posted will show up in your feed.

Repeat for each additional block. Remember, this is not a race, if you don’t finish in a week it’s okay, but be sure to print out the directions and add them to your quilt along units for future reference.

Enjoy every stitch! Diane
