Heartsy

Feeling so much love around here as my daughter prepares to marry her sweetheart. I’m so very thankful he is a part of our family!

This pattern was created to use the hearts that had been a part of the Scrappy Block of the Month I designed for Craftsy a while back. I wanted to make lots more of these fun little hearts, so I used them as the border for this quilt and filled in the middle with some snowball blocks. While I am partial to red and white quilts, I have since fallen in love with a student’s pink and white version. And I still want to make a rainbow scrappy version as well. Too many ideas and never enough time!

When looking for a variation on the word HEART for the name of this quilt, I came across the word HEARTSY which refers to the heart shaped emoji used on social media. How cute is that? Sometimes the perfect name just finds the quilt.

This easy strip piecing method will have you sewing up lots of hearts in a snap. The snowball blocks are made from two sizes of squares. So the cutting couldn’t be any easier, and the piecing is very simple as well. I love quilts that don’t require much thinking, but are still interesting and include tons of fabrics.

Enjoy Every Stitch! Diane
