10 Minute Tip

Get this cute tote now while it’s on sale HERE.

Do you ever feel like there are things in your sewing room that just get shuffled from place to place but never actually get used?

Do you have fabric that has been in your stash but never seems to get chosen for a project?

Do you have notions that seemed like a great idea at the time, but you found a different method that works better for you?

Do you have fabric that has been used so many times that you are tired of seeing it?

Do you have rulers that do nothing but collect dust?

I keep a designated tote bag hanging on the back of the door to my quilt studio for collecting items I no longer want or need. It doesn’t matter what kind of items or if they have been used before, the only thing I make sure is that they are still usable. Broken, stained and worn out items go in the trash or recycle bins. The items in the tote bag get taken to guild to be shared on the “free stuff” table, or taken to charity, school art departments, library or senior center. It keeps my sewing room tidy and makes things I do want to use, easier to find!

By having a spot I can put things whenever I notice them, I’m much more likely to actually remove them from my room. You can use a basket or bin or whatever else works best for you, but this one small change has made a big difference in my quilt room!

Enjoy Every Stitch! Diane
