10 Minute Tip

Keep at travel stitching kit ready to go! Even if you are driving, there are always appointments to wait for, carpool line, gaps between meetings or events, and random moments that would be better spent stitching!

Rather just purchase one? I use this one and love it! Find it HERE

Hand stitching relaxes me and makes me feel productive in otherwise wasted minutes. Don’t have a hand project in the works at the moment? No worries, I’ve got some suggestions!

Precut circles and make yoyo’s (tutorial coming soon!)

Precut scraps and grab some paper hexies. Make a few for an applique or enough for a whole quilt!

Hand stitch a binding down.

Ever tired needle punch? Is there anything more satisfying than stabbing something a million times? LOL

Applique. It’s not a dirty word, but start simple.

Wool applique. If you haven’t tried it, here’s your excuse!

Hand quilting. I love to add a touch of hand quilting to my machine quilted projects because it adds a little texture. (I do a whole program on mixing quilt techniques!)

Simply not willing to throw a small stitching kit together, then grab some magazines or patterns to read while waiting, it just might inspire you find the next travel project you didn’t know you wanted to make!

Enjoy Every Stitch! Diane
