Tiny Twirla gets some flowers
I am so thrilled to be sharing the actual sample made just in time for last week’s quilt show. This quilt uses the templates for Tiny Twirla (uses the same instructions as the Twirla pattern) and it got a variation of the Savannah flower border!
I just love taking some of my favorite quilts and combining the elements from them. If you will remember, Savannah was the result of a Crazy Daisy and Razzmatazz combination! I took the daisies and added them to the Razzmatazz patchwork.
So using the daisies yet again for the sample of the smaller version of Twirla seemed so natural! I used the templates from Savannah (which had been reduced in size from Crazy Daisy) and added some even smaller daisies!
These daisies are so easy! They are simply two circles. I fuse the fabric and run it through my Go! cutter system. I then cut slices out of the larger circle that go almost to the center of the circle. Then I add a smaller circle to the front of the larger one and it appears to be just petals! So simple and really fun. If you have a circle cutting system, you can do this. Or trace circles in the sizes you like, and do the cutting by hand.
Enjoy every stitch! Diane
