Remembering

This quilt was made by me for my sister from our dad's shirts.

The memory of where I was and who I was with is still so vivid after all these years. I remember my children were so small and life was so simple. The world changed that day for everyone. I was one of the lucky ones who didn’t lose a loved one. I sewed many stitches through tears to keep my hands busy while my heart ached. I’m thankful my children were too small to experience the grief.

I know stitching has soothed my soul through many difficult times. I continue to be so thankful for the comfort and friendship quilting has provided me.

Sending you love today, Diane
