Quilt Teaching Info…
I get lots of questions about my quilt teaching schedule, availability and what I offer. I am entering my ‘ahem’ 15th year of teaching quilt workshops and doing trunk shows for guilds across the country. What started out as a…Hey, could you teach us how to do that?…after seeing a quilt I designed that was in a local show. One thing led to another…and here we are!
In the beginning, I taught locally because every guild I visited had a member that was in another guild and they spread the word. Then some of those folks moved cross country and found new guilds to tell. Then those folks told other guilds, and you get the idea!
Teaching workshops and sharing my quilts led to the notion that maybe I should try to publish something in a quilt magazine. Remember when we had some awesome quilting magazines to choose from. Oh, am I showing my again? Oops. So I published in almost every magazine then decided, maybe it would be fun to write a book? So I wrote a book, then I wrote another one, and along the way I published quite a few patterns. And this gave me more quilts to share and more stories to tell. So now I have several trunk shows that groups can choose from.
If this all just sounds like way too much, there is a brief version of all this information in my teaching brochure. You can print it or just email it to the person on your guild program committee. I also love to teach at retreats and quilt shows, as well as special events.
Please reach out to me in the comments or by email if you have any questions or need more information. I would love to visit your group and share my quilts and stories with you and your quilting friends!
Enjoy every stitch! Diane
